Velvet and Commander Cupcake (Cuppy) were trained at J&K Canine Academy near Gainesville, Florida.  The gold standard for entomology scent detection dogs, they use training methods that are scientifically proven.*  Trained to alert only on live bed bugs and viable eggs, the hounds can find those bugs with 95-97% accuracy.

Velvet and Commander Cupcake are NESDCA (National Entomology Scent Detection Canine Association) certified, which means they have met the same stringent standards as dogs used in law enforcement for jobs such as bomb and drug detection.
